2019 Copper River Dipnet Charter

The Copper River is divided into two sub-districts for management purposes. Users may participate in ONLY ONE of these two fisheries in any given year. copper river salmon Dipnet Charter

The Glennallen Subdistrict is classified as a subsistence fishery, and either fishwheels or dipnets are allowable gear. No sport fishing license is required for this fishery. These permits are ONLY available at local DF&G offices in Anchorage, Palmer, Glennallen, etc.

The Chitina Subdistrict  is classified as a personal use fishery, and dipnets are the only allowable gear. Sport fishing license is required for this fishery. Permits are available at local retailers such as Fred Meyer's, Sportsman's Warehouse, & Mountain View Sports.

NEW 2019 - ADD $15 Per Person

Since our inception in 2012 we have raised our pricing once during this time. Our remote location, lack of infrastructure, increasing cost of insurance, maintenance, permitting, fuel and equipment we have had to take a hard look at our operating costs and charter pricing. Our charter pricing when compared to all other comparable fishing charters in Alaska has been well below the average for the service and opportunity we provide. No other fishery provides more upside potential than our dipnet charters for the average Alaskan for the coveted Copper River Salmon.  We hold more permits, licenses, and credentials than any other operator on the Copper River and we are the only USCG 5-Star safety rated charter in the Copper River Basin. We are proud of these achievements but this comes at a cost, we cannot deny the fact that  its time we adjust our pricing to reflect these new realities.

OPTIONAL - DIPNET INDEMNITY

Each season dipnets are being lost or damaged at an unsustainable rate despite efforts to the contrary.  We are offering a couple options to offset these costs that can be added to your charter.

1.OPT IN $10* Paying the $10 dipnet indemnity fee will cover the loss of one dipnet or one torn net per person, per charter.

2.OPT OUT $0* You will assume the risk for the replacement cost of the damaged or lost dipnet(s).

(*Max cost per dipnet is $200 depending on configuration, Replacement monofilament net is $35 ea).

BRING YOUR BOAT COOLERS:

Previously provided at no cost, coolers will no longer be provided on the charter. We will however have heavy duty 28 gallon brute totes for your use. These are smaller and hold less fish than our coolers but when full are lighter to handle and are not easliy broken like our coolers have been in the past. We encourage you to bring your own boat coolers and ice to keep your catch cold and fresh. Having your own cooler also helps with fish sorting underway and speeds up offloading of your catch at the end of the charter. We will assist you in carrying your catch to your vehicle if needed.
